John established the JR Capital Group following a 15-year career as an Investment Banker working for HSBC Investment Bank and Barclays Wealth in London where he held senior management positions responsible for marketing the Middle East and specialised in the UK property sector.
Fluent in Arabic, a speaker of Spanish, Italian and French, he has lived and travelled extensively throughout the region and has built up a large network of high level institutional and private clients in the Middle East over the past 25 years.
A seasoned deal maker John has completed numerous high profile deals in his career to date, including the sale and structuring of Riverlight (www.riverlightlondon.com) purchased by Berkeley Homes with a Gross Development Value (GDV) of over £1 billion.
John heads up the team at JR Capital and takes overall responsibility for investment strategy.
Henry joined the JR Capital Group in 2021 to establish JR Private Finance, bringing a wealth of experience in both the Middle East and the debt side of property financing.
A fully qualified IFA and FCA regulated mortgage broker, Henry has mixed his career advising on debt, investment and protection with being involved in Islamic Finance transactions. Some of the major transactions he has been involved in include the Sharia’a compliant debt tranche involved in the financing of the development of the £1bn Shard development at London Bridge.
Henry spent much of his career at the DDCAP group, a subsidiary of IPGL (Michael Spencer’s private investment group), where he headed up the Business Development team. He’s travelled extensively throughout the Middle East and has a good understanding of the needs and requirements of the clients. Henry also set up the Islamic Finance desk at Tullett Prebon, a subsidiary of TP ICAP the FTSE 250 interdealer broker.
Throughout his career, Henry has worked at Merrill Lynch, Baigrie Davies and Stadden Forbes, specialising in Residential, Commercial and Development Finance. Henry has arranged funding for multiple residential mortgages, both standard and complex cases, as well as term loans on investments, bridging and development. He has also arranged insurance policies for his customer base to ensure their protection needs are catered for.
Philip joined the JR Capital team from HSBC Private Bank where he spent 15 years as a Senior Relationship Manager covering the Middle East. Philip is responsible for Private Client and Banking Services, specialising in advising families on the structuring and management of their UK affairs and has been responsible for over £250 million worth of transactions in recent years.
Recent significant transactions include the structuring and refinancing of a Central London £25 million residential loan portfolio in Regents Park, a EUR10 million financing package on the French Cote d’Azure and the US$7 million equity release of a contemporary art portfolio arranged through a New York financial institution.
